No Shoes Is Good Shoes · 27 September 2012
Hicks and hippies agree, “No shoes is good shoes.”
I had this humorous revelation yesterday at school. Our homecoming dress up day was “Hick or Hippy” and there were fair amounts of both. I was dressed up as a hippy and walked around my classroom with no shoes most of the day. That was when I got the ridiculous revelation, “No shoes is good shoes.” (Actually, I thought up the saying later, but it sounds better as an almost divine revelation.)
Now I know this is a silly saying and a play on an old axiom, but I could not keep myself from thinking it. Memories of running around barefoot as a kid on Grandma and Grandpa’s farm and images of flower power people walking around barefoot flashed though my mind. Then I thought about it. While hicks and hippies might have differing opinions on just about everything else, both groups of people would agree on preferred footwear. They would both choose to be barefoot.
Whether or not these stereotypical groups of people really would agree on anything is not really the point. When it all comes down to it, I really just wanted to put out my own silly saying (which you should not think about too much). So go barefoot and remember: “No shoes is good shoes.”
