Running Again · 17 November 2012
It has only been a couple days, but I started running again. If a couple days can really be called started.
Hopefully, I can use those couple days and create a routine to put inertia to use in my favor. After all, once we get moving, it is hard to stop. At least that is the idea behind inertia.
The toughest thing about restarting something is actually just getting started. At least for me. It is difficult to start because it means getting back in shape. Or just getting in shape in the first place. Even after just a couple weeks of no running, I felt like I was out of shape and starting over. I guess the trick is to just do it anyway. Even if it means starting over. Again.
When I look at those couple days with a bit of perspective, I can say I am not completely starting over. After all, I went out and ran for about 15 to 20 minutes each day, which is about 10 or 15 minutes more than I did when I started in August. Eventually, I hope to increase the time, but for now, those few minutes are a good start.
I know it has only been a couple days now, but it seems like a big accomplishment to say that I am running again.
