There is only problem one with loving basketball as a way to stay fit – bruises.
I love to play basketball. I am not necessarily very skilled, but I like to run up and down the court. At the very least, to play defense and maybe take a shot every now and then. It is great physical exercise and has plenty of aerobic benefits.
Yesterday, my team was short-handed so we all had to play the entire forty minutes. I was exhausted by the end of the game.
I was also ecstatic when time expired. I had been able to play the game all out. I ran up and down the court non-stop for the whole game. I played defense and scored some points. Even though we lost, I was excited that I was able to play.
I was not so excited about all the bumps and bruises I got. However, it is just part of playing hard. I fall down or get knocked down or jump down on the ground just as part of the game. The ground and other people hurt my body and leave me banged up and bruised. Still, it is part of the game and even though I am not excited about the punishment when it is all over, I enjoy doing all those things that bruise my body.
I love to play basketball and hope to enjoy playing it for the rest of my life. It is a great way to run around a bit and get fit. Even though it comes with that one downfall – bruises.
