No Excuses · 2 July 2013
Any excuse will do.
I do not have time to write or cook or exercise. My parents both have diabetes so it is inevitable that I will get it too. It is too expensive to eat right. I am not motivated. I do not have any energy. My computer is broken. I do not have access to the internet. I need to spend quality time with my family. I am not smart enough.
Wah, wah, wah. The list of excuses goes on forever. I would even venture to say that we all have our favorite.
Whether we are talking about writing or health or any worthwhile endeavor, we can use any excuse as to why we are not getting things done. But there are no good reasons why we cannot accomplish our goals. Especially, if we want to have better health.
While there may indeed be a conspiracy to keep us in the dark about what foods can truly do for our health, we can see that the status quo and making excuses are not doing anything but making people fat and unhealthy. We must take the time and energy to find out what to do to make things right. We must take the time to get healthy. We must stop making excuses.
In the end, we all do what we want to do. We merely make excuses not to do the things we do not want to do. Even if we say the opposite. Once we decide to write or exercise every day, to eat healthy, to do what it takes to accomplish our goals, we will.
In reality, we all know there are no excuses in life. We all know that we need to decide to do whatever it is we want to do. We know that if we do not decide or if we do not really want to do something, any excuse will do.
