To a Football Coach's Wife · 28 September 2000
To the wife I love dearly
Whom I’ve not held so nearly
At least not like it used to be
Since football began
We’ve not walked hand-in-hand
To the park or any locality
But it’s all temporary
My love has lessened nary
A bit, an iota; not at all
So please bear with me dear
You know I’ll always be here
Just sooner at the end of football
Until then please know
That I still love you so
You can be mad, you have every reason
But soon home I’ll arrive
Around a quarter to five
Everyday until next coaching season
